This piece serves nostalgia. The subdued colours and faded blues speak of snow and cold Springs. The cut-outs are based off myself and my partner as children, and lack our features to better represent the fact that we never met in our youths, and were therefore strangers. The destination of this image is the French Alps, a place my partner and his family (his brother drawn above) frequented often. In this way, I am encroaching upon his childhood, and yet his faceless image welcomes me heartily.
